2016 QLD Tourism Awards - webinar

Are you still deciding if you should enter the 2016 Queensland Tourism Awards? Maybe you need a refresher on the Awards program and the process involved or have you just nominated for the first time and not sure where to start? Take advantage of QTIC’s FREE ‘First-Time Entrants' Webinar hosted by Mike Mahoney, a well-respected tourism industry leader and  former Queensland and Australian Tourism Awards judge.

The QTA webinar will cover the following topics:


  • Effort versus benefits

  • Judges and the judging process

  • What judges are looking for

  • An outline of the criteria and questions

  • Useful tips

  • Accreditation requirements.


Dates/Times: Wednesday 13 April from 3pm - 4.30pm OR Wednesday 11 May from 3pm - 4.30pm.

Presenter: Mike Mahoney, Managing Director of Extra Mile Tourism. Mike has more than 30 years' experience in the development of tourism products and destinations for Government and private enterprise in both Australia and international markets.  He has been a Queensland Tourism Awards judge and has also been on the panel for the Australian Tourism Awards.

Submit your nomination for the 2016 Queensland Tourism Awards!


Queensland tourism businesses, events and Regional Tourism Organisations can now nominate for the 2016 Queensland Tourism Awards (QTA), proudly presented by Queensland Airports Limited in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland.

Nominations need to be submitted by Wednesday 1 June 2016.

All nominations must be lodged via the online E-Awards portal by Wednesday 1 June 2016. Written award submissions, due on Monday 15 August 2016, will not be accepted unless you previously entered your nomination on or before the deadline (Wednesday 1 June 2016). Please note: QTIC members receive a discount on entry fees.
