Australia celebrates success in Canada
Tourism Australia celebrated double digit growth in arrivals from Canada - up 13% for the year to date - by hosting industry updates in Vancouver and Calgary last week.
Over 100 industry leaders from airlines, wholesale, tour operators, agents and media joined together to hear news about the market’s improved momentum from only in Australia experiences to sell to added air capacity over the last year. The events also recognised the increased number of Aussie Specialist travel agents with over 600 qualified agents, a year-on-year increase of 54%.

Tourism in Australia continues breaking records
Short-term visitor arrivals during April 2017 (727,600 movements) increased 0.8% compared with March 2017 (722,200 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.7% in February 2017 and March 2017.
The current trend estimate for arrivals is 7.7% higher than in April 2016. During April 2017, short-term visitor arrivals (746,700 movements) increased 4.7% compared with March 2017 (712,900 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 0.2% in February 2017 followed by a monthly decrease of 0.4% in March 2017.
There were 701,300 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia in April 2017.
