AUSTRALIAN TOURISM JUGGERNAUT ROLLS ON
Tourism continues to be one of the great success stories of the Australian economy with the latest figures setting new domestic travel records in spending, number of trips and nights away in the year to September 2015.
There's been a 6% increase in overnight visitor spending to $56.9 billion, a seven per cent increase in overnight trips to 85.3 million and a 5% increase in nights to 318 million - all setting new record highs. Daytrip expenditure rose by eight per cent to reach a record $19.1 billion for the year, alongside a 7% increase in daytrips to 175 million.

QTIC Tourism Indigenous Employment Champions Network
The QTIC Tourism Indigenous Employment Champions Network, supported by The Star Entertainment Group, aims to support tourism employers to recruit and retain Indigenous employees. The Network is a group of volunteer tourism operators that have exhibited best practice in the recruitment and retention of Indigenous employment.
Together with the Champions, QTIC have developed a range of resources for tourism operators, presented at numerous industry conferences, facilitated industry forums, provided tourism industry career path information to Indigenous students and job seekers, and identified Indigenous employment placements within the industry.
