Tourism Australia signs new strategic partnerships in China
Tourism Australia signed two strategic deals in China this week with Cathay Pacific Airways and Mafengwo.com, one of the top Chinese digital travel platforms. The three-year marketing agreement with Cathay Pacific Airways is aimed at promoting Australia to high yielding business events professionals in Greater China.
With Mafengwo Tourism Australia will establish a dedicated Australia travel page on the organisation’s app that provides Chinese consumers with information and products from Tourism Australia's key distribution partners in China. China is Australia’s largest inbound market with 1.4 million visitors for the 12 months to March 2019 who spent A$10.9 billion.
International Tourism Survey
The latest International Visitor Survey results, released yesterday by TRA, show that international visitors increased 8% to 8.3 million; nights increased 3% to 269.2 million; and spend increased 6% to $42.3 billion. Read more

QTIC Tourism Indigenous Employment Champions Network
The QTIC Tourism Indigenous Employment Champions Network, supported by The Star Entertainment Group, aims to support tourism employers to recruit and retain Indigenous employees. The Network is a group of volunteer tourism operators that have exhibited best practice in the recruitment and retention of Indigenous employment.
Together with the Champions, QTIC have developed a range of resources for tourism operators, presented at numerous industry conferences, facilitated industry forums, provided tourism industry career path information to Indigenous students and job seekers, and identified Indigenous employment placements within the industry.
